I have a simple question - I hope you can profide some feedback for. I am creating an educational documentary about transportion systems in American and West Virginia from about 1785 forward. I am using some clips of old films that have fallen out of copyright as some of the production content - film from this library. I plan on publishing this for nonprofit educational use in a unversity library system with specific instructions not to recopy, sell, etc.

Can I do this?

And in the future if some organization would want to publish it to actually market it - how can I obtane rights to do this?

Thank you very much for your help

If the films are really out of copyright there should be no reason why you cannot do as you please with them or with the film you make using them.
